What to expect

An auction you can check before you bid

  1. Seven days, and a finish nobody can snipe

A bid in the last two minutes pushes the finish back by two minutes, and keeps doing it until the bidding stops. The last bid wins because it was the highest, not the fastest.

  2. One fee, capped, and only the buyer pays it

Sellers list free. The buyer pays 4% of the hammer price, never less than $250 and never more than $2,500. No listing fee, no seller commission, no subscription.

  3. We never touch the purchase price

The buyer pays the seller directly. HaulBlock never takes title to a vehicle, never takes possession of one, and never holds the money for one. The only payment through us is the buyer fee.

  4. Questions are answered in public

Every question sits under the listing with its answer, where the next bidder can read it. A problem one person finds is a problem everybody knows about before the money moves.

If you are selling

What we ask for

More than a classified ad wants, and that is the point — it is what makes somebody two states away willing to bid without seeing the truck.

  • 10 exterior photographs. Both sides, both ends, all four corners, roof, tyres with tread showing, and every dent or rust spot.
  • 10 interior photographs. Seats, dash, headliner, pedals, sleeper if it has one, and the odometer with the engine on.
  • 5 mechanical and service records photographs. Engine bay, frame rails, underside, brakes, and photographs of the service records themselves.
  • The title, in your name. Checked against your ID, with a UCC lien search, before the lot goes live.
  • The history. A commercial history report, the DOT inspection record, and an engine download where the truck has one.

We write it up from all of that and send it back for you to approve. Nothing goes live that you have not read.

Twenty-five photographs minimum, and the shelving stays in the pictures whether or not it flatters the van.
Underneath, with the bed up. The shots a seller would rather skip are the ones a buyer needs.
If you are buying

What you get to see

All of it before the bidding opens, so the decision is made on the page rather than in a phone call afterwards.

  • Every photograph — not the five flattering ones.
  • What the title says — clean, branded or salvage, and which state it is in.
  • Whether there is a lien — found before the sale, not by you at the DMV afterwards.
  • The full bid history — every bid, with the time it was placed.
  • The reserve, if there is one — and whether it has been met.

Bidding is binding. You register a card before your first bid and we hold the buyer fee on it while you are the high bidder. The hold is released the moment somebody outbids you.

The test site

not real vehicles

HaulBlock is built and working, and you are welcome to go through it. The listings on it are invented ones we made to fill the pages — the trucks do not exist, the mileages and histories are made up, and the photographs are stock images of other vehicles. Every one of them says so at the top of its page.

You can browse, sign in, place a bid and walk a listing through the seller flow. No money changes hands and no vehicle is for sale.
